The Catholic Church maintains the teaching of Jesus Christ, that marriage is a permanent and unconditional commitment between one man and one woman. 
 
For a marriage to take place at Queen of Peace, one or both parties (or their parents) must be registered active members for at least 6 months  before beginning marriage preparation. Registration in the parish for the sole purpose of being married here is not permitted.  Once preparation begins, no date will be set until the initial information is gathered by the pastor. The Diocese requires 6 months prior to the wedding to ensure adequate time to prepare properly for the Sacrament. There are options for preparation, but some sort of preparation is required. Call the Parish Office to make the arrangements with the pastor. Saturdays are the usual day for weddings.
 
Times for weddings: For a Wedding Mass, no later than noon. For the Liturgy of the Word, no later than 12:30 p.m.
