1941 - Five lots were purchased on the corner of Edsel/Marquette Blvd
March 1942 - Things developed quickly and Assistant Pastor Fr. Arnold Thompson celebrated mass every Sunday
1943 - An old pool hall was purchased an remodeled for use as a church. The first mass there was held Christmas Day, 1943 and used for antoher 2 years.
1943 - A residence was purchased and remoldeled to be used as a rectory for the future resident priest
June 1944 - Bishop Magner assigned Fr. Gerald Harrington as the first Pastor.
August 26 1944 - Work began on the site of Edsel/Marquete Blvd. to build the new church. $25,000 was donated by the Catholic Church Extension society of Chicago Church Extension Society of Chicago with the Bishop Magner.
October 22, 1944 - Bishop Magner laid the cornerstone for the new parishwhich contained documents of the parish, diocesan and national history.
August 12, 1945 - Bishop Magner, Archbishop Alphonsus Strich, Rev. William O'Broen as well as other important clergymen were present fo rthe dedication of St. Mary Queen of Peace Parish
October 5, 1946 - Fr. Harrington was transferred to Sacred Heart Parish of Munising as Fr. Thomas Anderson became the second pastor. In the four years Fr. Anderson was pastor, stained glass windows as will as other beautiful decorum was added.
December 1950 - Fr. Anderson was transferred to Sacred Heart Parish of L'Anse and Fr. Joseph Gondek assumed the position as the the third pastor untill he left in 1968, when Fr. Thomas Anderson returned. During his tenure, Fr. Gondek added the heating plant and electric bells in the belfry along with other additions to the church
1972 - Fr. Arnold, who sheparded the infant missions Queen of Parish Church, returned as pastor for the next 21 years. Upon his death in Decemeber 1992, associate priest Fr. Jeff Johnson was immediately appointed adminsiter of the parish untill March of 1993.
March 1993 - Fr Paul Nomelinni, a native of Hancock, was appointed as pastor. He continued to promote lay involvement in the church, councils, commissions and other forms of lay ministry.
Spring of 2000 office building was built to accomadate classrooms and offices.
2002 - Fr. Michael Woempner took over as pastor when Fr. Paul Nomellni retired.
2015 - purchased 428 Edsel St and had it demolished, planted grass seed and put a storage shed on the lot
